The invaders forcibly take civilians from the temporarily captured village of Kazachya Lopan in the Kharkiv region to tent camps in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
According to Ukrinform, the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office reports this in Telegram.
Under the procedural leadership of the Dergachev district prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation into criminal proceedings has been launched on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) according to media reports regarding the forcible removal of people from the temporarily captured village of Kazachya Lopan to the territory of the Russian Federation.
“The military of the so-called “LPR” forcibly” evacuate “local residents to the tent camps of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, manipulating and intimidating civilian shelling by the Ukrainian army,” the report says.
All data is being verified and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
As Ukrinform reported, in July, Deputy Head of the US Mission to the OSCE, Courtney Austrien, during a regular meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna, said that the international community should intensify efforts to document the forced removal of Ukrainian civilians to Russia so that all those responsible would be punished. She noted that, according to Ukrainian government estimates, about 1.6 million Ukrainian civilians, including more than 260,000 children, have already been forcibly relocated to Russia.
