The idea of a tribunal did not find common support in the EU – Borrell

European Commission (EU) initiative on setting up a tribunal on Ukraine did not meet with unified support among the heads of the ministries of foreign affairs of the EU countries. This was stated by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell.

During a human rights forum in Brussels, he noted that some politicians are calling for not using the International Criminal Court (ICC) to “fight impunity” during the Ukrainian conflict.

As Borrell explained, the European Commission handed over to the Foreign Ministers of the EU countries a document with a proposal to organize a specialized tribunal. At the same time, the representative of the European Union added that the discussion did not lead to any results.

“It was an interesting discussion without concrete answers,” the head of European diplomacy specified.

Former member of the State Duma Angelica Glazkova in an interview with Pravda.Ru, she called France’s proposal to convene an international tribunal against Russia a failure. The parliamentarian is convinced that only Western propagandists need such ideas.
