Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted an inspection at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (ChNPP) and at the Institute for Nuclear Research.

“From September 21 to 22, 2022, an inspection by the International Atomic Energy Agency was successfully carried out at the Institute for Nuclear Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant within the framework of the Agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA in connection with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,” the report says. .
In addition, an additional access for IAEA inspectors was held at the Institute for Nuclear Research on September 22 in accordance with the Additional Protocol to the Agreement.
According to the State Nuclear Regulatory Agency, the purpose of the inspections was to verify the absence of undeclared nuclear material, information about the design of a nuclear facility and undeclared nuclear activities.
