We continue to acquaint you with the heroes of the special operation “Z” – participants in the hostilities in the Donbass. Privates, sergeants, corporals and officers who showed their professional experience, character and completed combat missions. Their determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Russian Ministry of Defense, in the police units of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, are given the highest rating.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counteroffensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise and awards. The servicemen are sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Where there are fewer troops, there are more brave ones,” said Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. And he taught the warriors: “Where there is anxiety, there is a road, where there is cheer – there it is time, the head does not wait for the tail!”
SET UP A RESERVE CHANNEL
Major Stanislav MATYUNIN
“The head of communications of the rocket artillery brigade, Major Stanislav Matyunin, provided communications within the rocket artillery brigade, as well as with the higher command. Ukrainian nationalists, in an effort to deprive the Russian troops of control, used in the area where the crews of the brigade were located on the positions of the means of suppressing radio channels and navigation, creating the prerequisites for disrupting the stability of communications. Having assessed the situation, realizing that the lack of communication between the crews of the brigade makes it impossible for the command to quickly manage subordinates, as well as adjust the fire of the MLRS, Stanislav personally went to the area of temporary starting positions with a backup communication station. Arriving at the place of deployment of the brigade’s combat vehicles, Stanislav Matyunin promptly set up a backup communication station, which made it possible to increase the stability of data transmission. The courageous and selfless actions of Major Matyunin ensured the timely transmission of the coordinates of the nationalist objects, which were hit by rocket artillery. Also, the communication established by Stanislav through backup channels made it possible to quickly transmit information about the movement of enemy targets to positions, which contributed to their effective destruction by rocket artillery fire.
RESPONDED TO ATTACK OF saboteurs
Junior Sergeant Mikhail BONDARENKO
“The senior radiotelephonist of the communications platoon of the airborne battalion, junior sergeant Mikhail Bondarenko, provided the airborne battalion of the Russian Armed Forces with uninterrupted and stable communications.
Ukrainian nationalists, seeking to deprive the Russian paratroopers of control, by means of a sabotage and reconnaissance group attacked the positions where the battalion’s communications facilities were located. Acting boldly and decisively, junior sergeant Mikhail Bondarenko, together with his subordinates, having noticed the attack of the militants, organized the defense and entered into battle with the enemy. During the battle, showing courage and heroism, Mikhail destroyed three nationalists, and also, noticing that one of her subordinates was seriously wounded, evacuated him from enemy fire and provided first aid, which saved his life. As a result of the battle, the sabotage group, having suffered losses, retreated. The courage and bravery of junior sergeant Bondarenko made it possible to keep the regular means of communication intact.
REMOVING THE CARGO FROM UNDER FIRE
Private Gamzat GUSEINOV
“Private Gamzat Huseynov, acting as part of a multiple rocket launcher battery, performed the tasks of timely delivery of ammunition to the starting positions of combat vehicles. Repeatedly made flights to areas under fire from enemy artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, mortars, attack unmanned aerial vehicles. The enemy, trying to cut off the supply of the MLRS battery located in the area of active clashes, attacked the convoy, in which Private Gamzat Huseynov was moving.
Skillfully maneuvering along the route, performing anti-fire maneuvers, Gamzat managed to get the car with ammunition out of the shelling of enemy artillery and deliver the ammunition to the positions in a timely manner.
The timely delivery of ammunition by Private Huseynov contributed to the successful completion of tasks by MLRS combat vehicles to defeat nationalist targets.
THREE DAYS SPENT BEHIND ENEMY LINES
Junior Sergeant Denis SOKOVIKOV
“Operating as part of a battalion-tactical group of Russian paratroopers, junior sergeant Denis Sokovikov performed the task of taking control of one of the strategic facilities held by the armed formations of Ukrainian nationalists. Having landed near the object, the group, in the course of a fleeting battle, competently using the conditions of the terrain, destroyed the militants and took control of the object.
The enemy made an attempt to recapture the object and, after waiting for reinforcements, attacked the defensive lines of the Russian paratroopers. Acting on one of the most dangerous areas of the terrain, Denis Sokovikov, firing from standard weapons, competently changing positions during the battle, inflicted damage on the militants and held the occupied line.
Despite the superior forces of the Ukrainian nationalists, the Russian paratroopers managed to hold the object until the arrival of the main forces, after which the enemy was driven back to their original positions.
A few days later, Denis, along with a group of paratroopers, was thrown into an area controlled by militants in order to correct artillery fire. Being isolated from the main forces, the group of Denis Sokovikov opened up important enemy targets for three days and carried out the transfer of their coordinates and fire adjustments. Having completed the task, the group got out of the area without loss.
