The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massapresented today a compensation program for poultry, pig and egg producers who were affected by the rise in the prices of soybeans, their derivatives and bean-based foods during the second edition of the Export Increase Program (PIE II ) that was in force between November 28 and December 31, 2022.

The announcement that was made this afternoon consisted of an investment to be made by the national government of $3,500 million in the so-called “Argentine Productive Strengthening Program”, that will make it possible to compensate the aforementioned livestock producers who saw more expensive feed for animals as a result of an increase in the oilseed, which came to exceed $100,000 per ton.

In the case of pig producers of up to 1,000 mothers will receive compensation of $30,000 per ton of soybeans, or their equivalents in by-products or balanced food purchased between November 28 and December 30, 2022. To calculate the tons to be compensated, the monthly average of pork produced between the months of October 2021 and September 2022 of each producer.

Likewise, it was provided that the tons necessary to produce that average volume of meat resulting from their past performance will be compensated in a single payment, with a maximum amount to be received by each producer of $5,000,000, reaching 98% of the producers. after a national government investment of $1,000 million.

In the case of poultry producers, the same they will receive compensation of $30,000 per ton and the same system of evaluation of the amount to be received will be taken into account, taking into account their past performance. In this case, the State’s contribution reaches 100% of the producers, with an investment of $2,000 million.

By last, egg producers they will access the benefit of $30,000 per ton purchased, taking into account the monthly average of eggs marketed between the months of October 2021 and September 2022 of each entrepreneur. As in the case of poultry meat, the aid will reach 100% of the producers, with an investment of the National Government of $500 million.
