First semi-final of the music competition Eurovision 2022 will be held in Turin on Tuesday evening, 10 May. Representatives of 17 countries compete for 10 tickets to the final of the competition. His main favorite is the Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine with the composition “Stefania”. According to bookmakers, on the eve of the first semi-final, almost every second bet on victory was in favor of this composition, which combined folk and rap. In the same semi-final, Russia was originally supposed to perform. However, the day after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine Russia was removed from the competition.
Favorites of the first semi-final of Eurovision-2022
The representative of Armenia Rosa Lynn and the Moldavian collaboration of the Zdob si Zdub team with the duet of the Advakhov brothers have good chances to reach the final. Almost the entire spectrum of its musical genres is represented in the first semi-final of the competition: from hard rock performed by Intelligent Music Projekt from Bulgaria, dance Eurodance from Austria by the duo LUM!X feat. Pia Maria to the ironic compositions of Citi Zeni and Subwoolfer from Latvia and Norway, respectively.
The previous evening, during the dress rehearsal of the show, national juries gave their marks to the participants. As a result of live broadcast, including on official website of the competition, viewers from the Eurovision participating countries will be able to evaluate the performances. The second semi-final will take place on Thursday 12 May and the final on Saturday 14 May. Places in it are reserved for the five largest donors of the European Broadcasting Union (the organizer of the competition): the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Italy would also be represented in the final because the country’s entry, Maneskin, won the last Eurovision Song Contest held in Rotterdam.
