The ex-UFC fighter told how the failed weigh-in will affect Chimaev’s reputation

Former fighter of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dean Thomas spoke about the Swedish fighter of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev, who failed the weigh-in before the fight with Nate Diaz.

“A year ago, when everyone was watching Chimaev, we said that this guy would kill everyone. The top 10 guys didn’t want to date him and stayed away. And I can tell you this, right now all the guys in the top 10 look at Chimaev and think: “He is weak. All you have to do is put pressure on it and it will break.” We saw in the fight with Gilbert Burns that he is a man, ”said Thomas.

The duel between Chimaev and Diaz was supposed to be the main event of the UFC 279 tournament, which will be held in Las Vegas today.

It was announced that the tournament would be headlined by a bout between Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson . Chimaev will face Kevin Holland in the co-main event. Both fights will be five-round. Chimaev and Holland will fight at 5.00 Moscow time.

Chimaev’s last fight was a meeting at UFC 273 against Brazilian Gilbert Burns. The duel ended in his victory.
