The court extended the arrest of Medvedchuk until August 9

The Lychakovsky District Court of Lviv extended the arrest of People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk until August 9.

According to Ukrinform, this is stated in decision court dated 9 June.

Thus, the judge granted the prosecutor’s request to extend the measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of 60 days, that is, until August 9, 2022, without determining the amount of bail.

As Ukrinform reported, in May 2021, the court placed Medvedchuk under round-the-clock house arrest in the case of high treason, violation of the laws of war and plunder of state mineral resources in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

On February 27, it became known about Medvedchuk’s escape from house arrest.

On April 12, as a result of a special operation carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine, the MP was detained. The Lychakivsky District Court of Lvov chose a measure of restraint for him in the form of detention, and also arrested 154 objects of movable and immovable property of Medvedchuk himself and his wife Oksana Marchenko.
