Participants of the 80th meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CIS countries on Friday, June 24, took part in an exhibition dedicated to the Victory Parade of 1945 and the Parade on Red Square in 2020 in honor of the 75th anniversary of the victory over fascism, organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense. It was held at the National Defense Control Center of Russia.

The exhibition consisted of three parts. The first featured archival materials from the 1945 Victory Parade – lists of captured German banners and standards, parade crews, and Marshal Zhukov’s speech.

Also shown are award lists of Red Army soldiers – natives of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Russia.

In the second part, domestic equipment was demonstrated: three cars, a ZIL convertible that participated in parades from 1971 to 2018, and Aurus, on which Sergei Shoigu first took part in the Victory Parade in 2019.

In the third: ceremonial uniforms with the Orders of Victory of Marshals Govorov, Rokossovsky and Zhukov, as well as Marshal Baghramyan’s checker. In addition, the Medal “For the Victory over Germany” is shown. Such a medal was first issued on the eve of the 1945 Parade of the year to each of its participants from private to marshal.

Also at the exhibition were shown invitation cards for the Parade and programs.

The exposition ended at the cannon, which went through the war from Stalingrad to Berlin and took part in the fireworks in honor of Victory Day.
