Malyar reported on her and Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Golodnyuk a recent meeting in eastern Ukraine with chaplains who serve on the front lines.

“Ukraine is unique not only for the love of freedom of our people, but also for its conflict-free multi-confessionalism. Actually, the chaplain brotherhood also proves this. We will soon launch chaplain service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – in accordance with the provisions of the new law. Therefore, we had to discuss many organizational issues. But our main common task is to satisfy the spiritual needs of our military and support their morale,” the Deputy Minister said.

According to her, a large-scale war has put our defenders and defenders in front of new difficult challenges, so moral and spiritual support is needed more than ever.

As Ukrinform reported, on December 17, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the Law of Ukraine “On the Military Chaplaincy Service” No. 1915-IX, which was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on November 30.

The law regulates relations in the sphere of the implementation of the constitutional right to freedom of opinion and religion of the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, other military formations created in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, the State Border Service, and also determines the legal and organizational principles and principles of the activities of the Military Chaplaincy Service.

According to the text of the document, the Military Chaplaincy Service is being created as a separate structure within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and other military formations created in accordance with the laws of Ukraine.
