the alliance is not going to leave the Black Sea for a long time

Naval Commander NATO Keith Blount said that North Atlantic Alliance is not going to leave the Black Sea without its fleet for a long time.

On Tuesday, May 10, a meeting took place between Blount and the Commander of the Bulgarian Navy Kiril Mikhailov. The latter noted that Bulgarian, Romanian and Turkish ships are searching for mines in the Black Sea.

“NATO does not intend to stay out of the Black Sea for long,” Blount said.

Recall that after Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine, Turkey closed access to the Black Sea for warships on the basis of the Montreux Convention.

Formerly chief of US military intelligence Scott Berrier called the situation in Ukraine “stalemate” – neither the Russian army nor the Ukrainian Armed Forces can prevail.
