The first “racket” of Ukraine Elina Svitolina this year will miss the ground tennis tournament Grand Slam “Roland Garros”.
Elina will not speak in Paris for the first time since 2011, Ukrinform reports.
Svitolina played 11 times at Roland Garros (9 times in the main draw) and reached the quarterfinals three times (2015, 2017, 2020). Last year, the Ukrainian lost to the future champion of the tournament Barbora Kreychikova from the Czech Republic in the third round. In total, Svitolina played 34 matches at the French Open and won 23 victories (31 matches in the main draw – 22 victories).
As Ukrinform reported, at the end of March, Elina Svitolina announced that she was taking a break from performances due to back pain.
This year, the Ukrainian has played only 13 matches (5 wins). At the moment, the ex-third racket of the world occupies 29th place in the WTA rankings.
