Surkis confirms Verbic’s departure from Dynamo

He should become a Panathinaikos player.

Dynamo President Igor Surkis confirmed for Gypsy Live transfer of midfielder Benjamin Verbic to Greek Panathinaikos, Ukrinform reports.

“Verbic left. He made this decision for himself. We were not very against it, we have young guys whom we will give way to. Lucescu said that he chooses his own path. He is 29 years old, this is his right,” said the President of Kiev.

It was reported that Verbic would earn 2.5 million euros over a three-year contract at Panathinaikos. Also, the midfielder’s income can bring various additional bonuses prescribed in his contract.

“He did a lot for the team, but in recent years he was very much pursued by injuries that did not give him the opportunity to be in the conditions that Dynamo need now,” Surkis added.

Verbic spent the second part of last season on loan from Legia. The Slovenian played in seven matches for the Polish team without scoring.

As Ukrinform reported, Verbic played for Dynamo in both matches of the Champions League qualification against Fenerbahce (0:0, 2:1).
