States are working on the purchase of Norwegian air defense systems for Ukraine

The United States is already engaged in concluding contracts for the purchase of Norwegian NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems for Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, this was stated in US Department of Defense.

“I don’t have detailed information regarding contracts, but we are already in the process of purchasing systems (NASAMS for Ukraine – ed.),” a senior Defense Ministry official said at a briefing.

The ministry did not specify exactly when Ukraine should expect these systems.

As reported, the US decision to transfer NASAMS systems to Ukraine became known back in early July, but our defenders still have not received this effective Norwegian-made weapon. The range of destruction of NASAMS is from 20 to 180 km, and the height at which air targets can be hit reaches 21 km.
