Shakhtar Donetsk signed a lease and maintenance agreement with the training center (TCL) of the Polish football club Legia from Warsaw.
The agreement is calculated for the period from August to November 2022, Ukrinform reports.
The complex was awarded the title of “Best Sports Facility 2021” in the prestigious Sport Biznes Polska ranking. It is located a 20-minute drive from the Warsaw Chopin International Airport and 30 minutes from the center of Warsaw, including the Legia Stadium, where Shakhtar will play Champions League matches. Legia’s training center will also be the venue for Shakhtar U19’s home matches of the UEFA Youth League.
Shakhtar’s Sports Management Department Director Vitaliy Khlivnyuk commented on the agreement: “Legia’s training center has everything necessary for Shakhtar’s training. We will have two training fields with natural turf, an indoor arena and a large gym at our disposal. There is also everything for the recovery of football players – a swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas. We will be able to use a spacious office and conference room, and our chef will work in his own kitchen.”
“TCL infrastructure will allow Shakhtar to carry out the training process at the highest level, and the convenient location of the stadium and the airport will reduce the time for logistics. Thanks to Legia for hospitality and help,” Khlivnyuk added.
