Selection for Junior Eurovision has started in Ukraine

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by Public.

Everyone, regardless of the country of the current residence of the child, must fill out and submit an application on the website of the national selection

Children from 9 to 14 years old can take part in the national selection. Applications will be accepted until August 23rd.

Both solo artists and groups of up to six members with their own original song can apply. The requirements for the contest song assume a duration of 2.5 to 3 minutes. The lyrics of the song must be at least 60% Ukrainian. The song of the national selection participant should not be made public until May 1 of this year.

Among the applications that meet the conditions, finalists will be selected. This year the final of the national selection of Junior Eurovision 2022 will be held online. About 10 participants will get to the final.

The 20th Children’s Song Contest will be held on December 11 in Yerevan (Armenia). Last year in Paris, 14-year-old Malena won among 19 participating countries. For Armenia, this is the second victory at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Ukraine in Paris was represented by 14-year-old winner of the national selection Elena Usenko with the song “Vazhil” and took sixth place.

Public Broadcasting, which is a member of the European Broadcasting Union, organizes and conducts the selection of the song and the representative of Ukraine, and also ensures the participation of the representative of Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2022.
