Sanda is outraged by the terrorist attack in Olenivka and calls for tougher sanctions

The Russian killing of captured Ukrainian defenders in Olenivka violates international law and calls for tougher sanctions.

According to Ukrinform, about this in Twitter wrote the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu.

“Outraged and shocked by the murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russia in the correctional institution Olenivka. <...> We strongly condemn her actions and call for an international investigation and sanctions,” Sandu said.

She added that “this unjustified war against Ukraine is a serious violation of international law and human rights.”

As Ukrinform reported, law enforcers opened criminal proceedings on the shelling of Olenivka, Donetsk region, by Russian troops, as a result of which about 40 people died and 130 were injured.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian military deliberately fired on the colony in Olenivka, where Ukrainian prisoners of war were kept.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the murder of Ukrainian prisoners in the temporarily captured Olenivka, Donetsk region, was carried out by mercenaries from the Wagner private military company.
