Classic Soviet films about the Great Patriotic War never directly agitated the viewer, the Russian director is sure Andrey Bogatyrev.
Despite what is happening in Ukraine, patriotism in Russia is still business unusualand attempts to create a patriotic cinema lead to the fact that viewers see a continuous propaganda on the screen.
“Majority contemporary films about the Great Patriotic War, which received serious producer support, are stillborn,” Bogatyryov said in an interview with the argumenti.ru portal.
He is sure that in a few years cinemas will have worthy films about Donbass, because this land is inhabited by true patriots.
“They are Super-Russia. There is true patriotism. In Moscow or St. Petersburg you will not see this en masse,” the director summed up.
