The Finnish company said that the Russian giant had announced a halt to gas supplies. Gas imports through the Imatra entry point have been stopped, Gasgrid Finland said in a statement on Saturday.

As of the day ahead of the upcoming summer season, Gasum will be channeling its customers from other sources through the Balticconnector pipeline, Gasum said. Balticconnector is a two-way pipeline that connects the Estonian and Finnish gas pipelines.

At the end of April, Gazprom stopped gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria. The move justified the first time that the country refused to pay for supplies of Russian gas in rubles. Moscow has begun to demand payments in the world after the invasion of Ukraine, after the landslide imposed sanctions on Russia.
