Russian ambassador misinforms public – Canadian FM

Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov regularly spreads false military propaganda.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, this was announced on the air of the TV channel SHS Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said.

“Unfortunately, the Russian ambassador to Canada is supplying Canadians with propaganda, and this is very problematic,” Joly said.

According to her, Canada is not currently considering declaring the Russian ambassador persona non grata, despite his undiplomatic behavior, as this will lead to the mutual expulsion of the Canadian ambassador from Russia.

“We understand that there is always reciprocity between the two states. We want to have a representative office in Moscow, which affects our decision regarding the Russian diplomatic presence in Canada,” the minister said.

She stressed that “the Canadian public is able to recognize Vladimir Putin’s lies.” “We will always resist any form of disinformation,” Joly added.
