Russia has the right to use nuclear weapons in strict accordance with the fundamentals of state policy. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
According to him, Moscow may turn to nuclear capabilities if Russia or its allies are attacked with such weapons.
“Or if aggression with the use of conventional weapons threatens the very existence of our state,” Medvedev said.
In addition, he added that the countries that are part of the North Atlantic Alliance now govern Ukraine. In this regard, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation called for preventing the appearance of nuclear weapons near Kyiv.
Former military expert Gennady Alekhin said that Ukraine and the United States are drawing the Russian Federation into nuclear conflict. This is the worst scenario, which is unlikely to be realized, the specialist concluded.
