Refusal of European countries from payment Russian gas under the new rules will lead to another surge in prices for blue fuel in the EU. This was stated by the research director of Vygon Consulting Maria Belova.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, she noted that the scale of the crisis in this market will depend on the number of organizations that refuse to continue working with Gazprom.
“The approaching deadlines for most European companies to pay for gas delivered in April will lead to the emergence of new “refuseniks,” which means a surge in spot prices,” Belova said.
According to the analyst, demand for gas is traditionally reduced closer to the summer. She stressed that during this period, spot prices can be expected in the range of $1,000 per thousand cubic meters.
