Recognition of the Russian Federation as a sponsor of terrorism will be an additional powerful sanction

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba regarded the recognition of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism as an additional powerful sanction.

The head of Ukrainian diplomacy stated this on the air of the national telethon, Ukrinform reports.

“This will mean Russia joining the honorary club of countries that includes North Korea, for example, and this is an important political marker. Secondly, this status implies a very serious complication of the possibilities of financial transactions for the Russian Federation, that is, in fact, this is an additional sanction, a powerful sanction against the Russian Federation,” he said.

Kuleba stressed that the Ukrainian side has done everything possible to make this decision.

“The President has repeatedly emphasized this, I have repeatedly asked for this. There is every reason to make this decision, now let’s wait for the reaction of the State Department,” the minister said.

As reported, on June 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the United States to recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.
