Qatar 2022: Argentina beat the Netherlands on penalties


After equaling 2-2 in regulation time, the Argentina team beat the Netherlands on penalties (4-3) in the 2022 World Cup. For the selected winner, Lionel Messi, Leandro Paredes, Gonzalo Montiel and Lautaro Martínez were right, while Enzo Fernández missed his execution. Virgil van Dijk and Steven Berghuis failed for the eliminated team. In this way, Argentina qualified to the Semifinal.

For its part, Lionel Scaloni’s team took to the field with a 5-3-2 scheme with Emiliano Martínez under the three sticks; Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Nicolás Otamendi, Lisandro Martínez and Marcos Acuña in defense; Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernández and Alexis Mac Allister in midfield; and Julián Álvarez and Lionel Messi up front.

Referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz was in charge of supervising the game at Lusail National Stadium.

Argentina was left with the victory on penalties and scored in the FIFA Semifinal – World Cup Qatar 2022.
