Russian leader Vladimir Putin urged to prevent a repetition of the situation in 2021, when intensive and prolonged Forest fires.
The head of state proposed to take additional measures that would reduce the severity of problems with wildfires. He instructed to prepare a decree on a target to reduce fires for each region and the whole country.
“A number of Russian regions are fighting fires that have broken out in populated areas. Moreover, significant material damage is obvious,” Putin said during a meeting on fire safety.
He added that in some subjects of the Russian Federation, people died as a result of fires.
The President also stressed that the heads of regions should not hush up problems, especially if the situation gets out of control. As Putin noted, large-scale forest fires undermine efforts to preserve the climate.
