Vladimir Putin addressed the participants of the conference to review the operation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. He recalled that Russia is reducing its missile arsenals.

“Our obligations under bilateral agreements with the United States on the reduction and limitation of relevant weapons have also been fully fulfilled. We proceed from the fact that there can be no winners in a nuclear war and it should never be unleashed, and we stand for equal and indivisible security for all members of the world community,” the head of state said in a greeting to the participants and guests of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Conference ( NPT).

Putin added that he recognizes the right of other countries to a peaceful atom if they are not going to create nuclear weapons. Moreover, there should not be any additional conditions. A clear reference to Iran, which has been fighting for the opportunity to have its own nuclear power plants for many years.

“We are ready to share our experience in the field of nuclear energy with partners,” the President said.

The Russian leader considers the IAEA an effective organization. “We consider it extremely important to ensure its objective, depoliticized and technically justified application,” Putin added.
