Is this not a real New Year’s miracle: in the midst of raging inflation (according to Rosstat, prices for the year jumped by 12.4%), the most delicious attribute of the New Year fell in price. No, this is not snow: the association of producers Rusprodsoyuz has calculated the traditional Olivier index. And they found out that over the year the total price of salad ingredients decreased by 0.4%.
For calculations, analysts took the most traditional salad recipe for four servings: 500 g of potatoes, 200 g of carrots, 300 g of boiled sausage, 200 g of mayonnaise, 100 g of onions, 400 g of pickles, a jar of green peas of 380 g and 4 eggs . All this cost 375 rubles – 1.6 rubles cheaper than a year ago (for percentages, see “Specifically”).
The price reduction is the “merit” of vegetables: a year ago they were noticeably more expensive, but now they have fallen in price due to a good harvest. However, you should not rejoice too much. In previous years, the cost of Olivier soared above inflation: in 2021 by 15%, in 2020 by 7.7%. So in three years it has risen in price by 22.3%.
