Director of the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Politics Anton Orlov supported the initiative simplifying the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for foreign specialists. According to the political scientist, there is a shortage of highly qualified personnel in the country.
However, according to Orlov, the procedure should be simplified only within certain specialties.
“The Russian economy especially needs qualified specialists, including those from foreign countries,” the political scientist explained. RT. “It is important to strike a balance and not extend this practice to all professions so that the Russian passport does not depreciate.”
Earlier, such an initiative was made by a State Duma deputy Ivan Sukharev.
