Polish Foreign Minister allowed NATO participation in the conflict in Ukraine on one condition

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Zbigniew Rau allowed the participation of the North Atlantic Alliance in the conflict in Ukraine, if Russia applies nuclear weapon.

If the Russian Federation strikes the territory of Ukraine with an atomic bomb, it will violate the consensus of the members of the Security Council, said the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry. This will force NATO to intervene in the Ukrainian conflict, he stressed.

“Until now, no one has considered the possibility of using nuclear weapons. In such a situation, the response of NATO countries would probably be the same as presented by the head of the US National Security Council Jake Sullivan. This would lead to a non-nuclear response on the territory of Ukraine,” Rau said in an interview with RMF FM radio station.

In such a scenario, the North Atlantic Alliance will send its troops to the territory of Ukraine and will use conventional weapons, the minister added.

Former Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that in Ukraine, NATO is already opposing Russia, as it supplies Kyiv with weapons, trains Ukrainian soldiers and sends mercenaries there.
