Pinoys who experienced hunger reduced

The number of families that experienced hunger decreased in the second quarter of 2022 or in the last three months of the Duterte administration, according to a survey by the Social Weather Station (SWS).

Based on the survey conducted on June 26-29, 2022, it appeared that 11.6 percent of Filipino families or approximately 2.9 million experienced hunger or did not eat once or more in three months.

This is lower compared to 12.2 percent or 3.1 million families in April 2022.

Most of those who experienced hunger were families living in the National Capital Region (NCR) which recorded 14.7 percent, but this was lower compared to 18.6 percent in April.

Mindanao followed with 14.0 percent, Balance Luzon with 11.9 percent and Visayas with 5.7 percent.
