Citizens in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporozhye region, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, are accrued and paid all social benefits.
This was stated by the chairman of the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Starukh in interview Ukrinform.
“It is difficult, but all social payments are accrued and paid. Where there is no way to pay, they are accrued. There were problems with pensions, as some people continued to receive them in cash. Now most citizens have been transferred to non-cash pension payments. Salaries are paid. Of course, if cooperation with occupying forces, funding is stopped,” the head of the Zaporizhia Regional Military District said.
Starukh emphasized that the procedure for accruing social benefits is carried out within the framework of the current legislation of Ukraine. According to him, a special commission has been created, which includes all local self-government bodies.
“For example, the mayor and the executive committee clearly understand what is happening with a certain utility company cooperating with the occupiers. They provide proposals for blocking accounts, which is being done without delay,” the chairman of the Zaporizhia OVA explained.
As Ukrinform reported, more than 70% of the Zaporozhye region is under temporary Russian occupation.
