Patriots turn around and beat Cardinals 27-13

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Mac Jones threw for 235 yards, Raekwon McMillan made a crucial touchdown return on a fumble and the New England Patriots rallied to beat the New England Patriots 27-13 on Monday night. Arizona Cardinals, who were without quarterback Kyler Murray in the first quarter with a possible serious knee injury.
New England trailed 13-10 at halftime, but tied it at 13 early in the third quarter on a short field goal. Later in the quarter, the Patriots got the game-changing play to go up 20-13 when McMillan recovered a fumble and ran 23 yards for the score.
Kyle Dugger forced the fumble by stripping three-time All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who caught the pass.
The Patriots extended their lead to 27-13 early in the fourth quarter on Pierre Strong Jr.’s 3-yard run, and relied on his defense for the rest of the game to complete the much-needed victory.
Jones completed 24 of 35 passes with one interception as New England (7-6) snapped a two-game skid to stay in contention for an AFC playoff spot.
Arizona (4-9) has lost five of six games, including the last three.
