Paralympic champion Denis Dubrov dies

The Ukrainian swimmer was only 33 years old.

Famous Ukrainian swimmer Denis Dubrov died at the age of 33. The causes of the athlete’s death were not reported, Ukrinform reports.

Dubrov is an 11-time winner of the Summer Paralympic Games. In Rio de Janeiro 2016, the Ukrainian won eight medals (three gold, three silver and two bronze). In Tokyo 2020, Denis won another gold and two bronze medals.

Dubrov is also a two-time champion and bronze medalist of the 2015 World Championship in Glasgow. At the continental championships, Denis won 11 medals, of which four were gold.

Dubrov is the current record holder of the Ukrainian championship at a distance of 200 m complex. In 2016, Denis was awarded the Order of Merit, III degree.
