Only 2% of entrepreneurs switched to the conditions of the Russian occupiers of Kherson and Zaporozhye

About it Center for Investigative Journalism learned from their own sources.

At first, the occupiers demanded that entrepreneurs become “tax registered” during July. They then extended that deadline until August 1st. However, there was no influx of people wishing to register with the occupation administrations.

Judging by the data of the State Tax Service, as of December 1, 2021, 77,984 business entities were registered in the Kherson region alone. And in the Zaporozhye region, as of August 1, 2020, there were almost 123.5 thousand entrepreneurs, institutions and organizations.

In addition to re-registration in the occupation administrations, the temporary Russian government in the Ukrainian south is forcing entrepreneurs to obtain Russian passports and imposes payments in Russian rubles.

“Most entrepreneurs are now trying to sell the rest of their goods, close their stores and try to leave for Ukrainian-controlled territory. Not everyone accepts rubles, because buyers simply do not have them. They are accepted only by those who travel for goods in the Crimea. Local utility companies also accept the hryvnia for the time being and pay wages to employees in it,” Kakhovka entrepreneurs said on condition of anonymity.

According to residents of Kakhovka and Novaya Kakhovka, some local entrepreneurs refuse to accept rubles. Even those who receive Russian money as so-called “charitable aid” from the occupiers try to immediately exchange it for hryvnias.

As reported Center for Investigative JournalismApril 28 Gauleiter of Kakhovka district Vladimir Leontiev issued an order on the mandatory registration of all business entities operating in the territory of the temporarily occupied region.

The occupiers demanded that all business representatives arrive by May 8 to receive “temporary permits”. Later, the deadline was extended until May 15, and then until the end of the month. For violation of this requirement, local Gauleiters began to confiscate the property of entrepreneurs and close their outlets. However, even these repressive methods did not force the representatives of business to go along with the infidels.

At 4 am on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the occupied Donbas. Russia launched missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and launched a direct full-scale invasion in four directions. The armed forces of Ukraine are rebuffing the enemy, the blitzkrieg plan – to capture Kyiv in two or three days – failed, the Russian army retreated from the capital. The Russian military commits thousands of war crimes and crimes against humanity throughout Ukraine.
