NYT: There is deep distrust between the White House and Zelensky

The White House treats the Ukrainian authorities, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, with more distrust than is usually shown publicly, writes the New York Times. Columnist Thomas Friedman, criticizing the visit of the speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, said that she chose the “worst time” for the trip. According to him, the Ukrainian conflict is capable of bringing “dangerous surprises” due to its instability. In addition, he stressed that the US administration is much more concerned about the behavior of Kyiv than it is made public. As the journalist explained, Washington still does not know about the objective reasons for the recent layoffs in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
