Number of Russian war crimes on the rise in Luhansk region, local residents go missing

In the Lugansk region over the past day, law enforcement officers recorded 19 facts of war crimes committed by Russian troops.

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by National Police.

Criminal proceedings are open under Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, as a result of shelling by Russian troops, residential apartments and houses of residents of Severodonetsk, Shchedrishchevo, Popasnaya, Novotoshkovka and Rubizhnoye were destroyed and damaged.

12 facts of the seizure of state and communal buildings in Severodonetsk, Kremennaya and Gorsky were documented (Article 341 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Four collaborators who entered the service in the power structures of the pseudo-republic “LPR” were exposed. Malefactors are expected to be punished under Art. 111-1 (collaboration activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine;

Also, 11 illegal possession of cars and 10 facts of looting were recorded. The search for 14 missing people has begun.

As Ukrinform reported, according to the military-civilian administration, on the night of August 2, in the Lugansk region, Russian troops fired rockets in the direction of Kostiantynivka, hit populated areas four times from aircraft.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russians used artillery support to attack the Lugansk region seven times, twice more – mortars, attracted tanks. The Ukrainian defenders repulsed seven attempts of the attack of the invaders per day.
