The government of North Macedonia has decided to transfer Soviet-style tanks to Ukraine to fight Russian aggression.
According to Ukrinform, this is reported by Reuters.
The Ministry of Defense of North Macedonia said that Ukraine will receive tanks belonging to the country’s tank battalion, which is in the process of modernization.
“Given this situation and the needs of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the government has decided to transfer a certain amount of these tank capacities to Ukraine in accordance with its needs,” the statement said.
At the same time, the country’s Ministry of Defense did not specify the number of tanks, but said that they belong to the so-called third generation of main battle tanks of the 1970s and 1980s, which have composite armor and a computer-stabilized fire control system.
As Ukrinform reported, on July 28, the Latvian government supported the proposal of the country’s Ministry of Defense to provide additional military support to Ukraine.
