Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan may appear on a thousand rubles

While the Central Bank intends to re-introduce paper banknotes of five and ten rubles, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Sergey Belov informed that the concept of new banknotes of one and five thousand rubles has been approved in Russia, in particular, Nizhny Novgorod may appear on the thousandth banknote on one side, and one of the sights of Kazan on the back.

“Belov invites journalists to guess which iconic places will be depicted, while naming only a part of the options proposed to the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia. In addition to the listed images, the Syuyumbike Tower of the Kazan Kremlin, the Kazan Kremlin itself, the Gorodishche Nature Reserve or the Kazan Family Center, as well as the Volga can be applied for a thousand rubles.

It is noted that the release of a new bill of 1000 rubles is scheduled for 2023.
