The head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova , Alexander Mustiata, announced the tightening of control at the country’s border in connection with the expected increase in the flow of people leaving Russia . His words are quoted by TASS .
“We expect an increase in the flow of people leaving the Russian Federation,” Musteata said.
According to him, the task of the security service and the border police is a thorough check of those entering the country, especially foreigners.
“If we doubt the honesty of these people, then we will prohibit them from entering our country,” he added, explaining that arriving foreigners will be asked about the purpose of their arrival in Moldova, the availability of funds for living and return tickets.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu said earlier that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the republic will ask Russia to consider the possibility of refusing to recruit persons who have a second Moldovan citizenship into the army. According to her, the agency will also provide support to Moldovans who want to return home from Russia.
