Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said that a reasonable diplomatic solution must be found to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. The head of state made the corresponding statement during his speech at the UN General Assembly , RIA Novosti reports .
“It is important to work together to find a reasonable, fair and viable diplomatic solution that will allow the Russian Federation and Ukraine to get out of the crisis with dignity,” the politician said.
He also called on all international organizations and all countries to “sincerely support Turkey’s efforts to establish a lasting peace in Ukraine.” According to Erdogan, Ankara will continue to step up efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.
“We stand for the settlement of the problem on the basis of the integrity of Ukraine,” he added.
Currently, a special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continues in Ukraine. It was announced on February 24 by Russian President Vladimir Putin . According to him, the purpose of military action is to demilitarize the neighboring country and denazify its authorities.
The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
