Dr. Myasnikov called the outbreaks of monkeypox strange, as there is no “trace” from Africa. He compared the disease to HIV infection. The doctor explained that monkeypox has been known since 1970. Outbreaks of this disease were observed only in Africa, in Europe and the USA only single imported cases were recorded. “And suddenly – more than 200 cases in different places and – most importantly – no” trace “from Africa, no one went anywhere!” the doctor is surprised.
