MWM: Armed Forces of Ukraine faced problems due to low-quality German weapons

American military experts said that the German defense industry has made great efforts to compete with Russia and the United States in the global arms market. However, German military equipment did not prove to be effective enough in the zone fighting.

For example, Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts (ACS), which were transferred to Ukraine, quickly fell into disrepair. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to rely on artillery of a different production.

In addition, the Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (ZSU) turned out to be incompatible with ammunition. Also, the German tank Leopard 2, which was used by Turkey in Iraq and Syria, was ineffective.

“The defense sector of Germany, apparently, seeks to capitalize on the Ukrainian conflict. The performance of German weapons in actual combat could be a serious obstacle to such ambitions,” the article says. Military Watch Magazine (MWM).
