Since the beginning of May, Moldova has been paying for supplies Russian gas in euros, said the head of the company “Moldovagaz” Vadim Cheban. According to him, transactions are carried out in accordance with existing contracts.
As Cheban emphasized, the rumors that Moldova is buying blue fuel for rubles are not true. The head of the company specified that the country switched to the euro, in accordance with the requirements of Moscow.
“From May 1, we pay in euros. Payments are already made in euros. We do not pay in rubles,” Cheban explained on the air of the TV channel RTR Moldova.
This method of payment for supplies was chosen due to the fact that Moldova is not included in the Russian list of unfriendly countries and can purchase fuel for euros.
