Bucha of the Kyiv region was visited by the members of the Supervisory Board of the Yalta European Strategy.
According to Ukrinform, the Buchansk city council announced this in Facebook.
Mayor Buchi Anatoly Fedoruk informed the delegation about the killings of civilians by the Russian military. “Just the dead civilians. This was confirmed by examinations made after the exhumation of the bodies of the dead. These are war crimes for which those responsible must be punished. Of the citizens who remained in Bucha during the occupation, every fifth or sixth was shot. If we talk about the entire Kiev region, every third person in the region was shot in Bucha,” Fedoruk said.
The mayor also told the delegation about the concept of the future memorial complex. “We understand that life goes on and we need to live with it, and it is necessary to perpetuate the memory of the events that took place here. Because the liberation of the settlements of the Kiev region and Ukraine began from Bucha,” he said.
Members of the YES Supervisory Board were informed that the community already has developments on the memorial complex. Different architectural groups, design organizations form their proposals. The Buchansk City Council has some achievements in cooperation with the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.
