The Ukrainian-Romanian duo Marta Kostyuk – Elena-Gabriela Reuse made it to the second round of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Internazionali BNL d’Italia tournament in Rome (Italy) with a prize fund of $2.527 million.
At the start of the competition, Kostyuk and Ruse won a confident victory over Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway) and Katherine Harrison (USA) within one hour – 6:0, 6:2, Ukrinform reports.
For reaching the quarterfinals of the tournament, Kostyuk and Reuse will meet with the Russian tandem Veronika Kudermetova – Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who defeated the 5th pair of the tournament consisting of Americans Corey Gauff and Jessica Pegula – 5:7, 6:2, 11:9.
Internazionali BNL d’Italia will end on May 15th.
