Marta Kostyuk defeated the Swiss Golubich at the start of the WTA tournament in Eastbourne
Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk made it to the second round of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Rothesay International Eastbourne tournament in Eastbourne (UK) with a prize fund of $757.9 thousand.
At the start of the competition, Kostyuk (No. 51 WTA) confidently defeated Swiss Victoria Golubich (No. 78) – 6:2, 6:1, Ukrinform reports.
Tennis players spent only 1 hour on the court.
The next rival of the Kiev player will be Czech Barbora Kreychikova, seeded under the 7th number.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainians Angelina Kalinina, Dayana Yastremska and Lesya Tsurenko also perform in Eastbourne.
Rothesay International Eastbourne will run until June 25th.
