Marina Makisha named foods rich in vitamin D

There are foods that are high in vitamin D. Among them are cod liver, sea fish, egg yolks, mushrooms and milk. This was stated by a dietitian, a member of the National Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists Marina Makisha.

According to Moscow 24in ordinary stores there are few products containing this important vitamin.

“By the way, many vegetarians have probably even seen vegetable milk, which is specially enriched with vitamin D. Such products are quite common now and are a good source of it,” the expert explained.

Two egg yolks cover 30% of the daily requirement for this vitamin. Also, sea fish is rich in this element.

“If, for example, pink salmon contains about 70% of the daily norm, then herring or mackerel contains already 300%. You only need to eat a 30-50-gram piece to get the daily norm,” the expert says.

Cod liver is a real superfood, a natural dietary supplement with a record high content of vitamin D. It is enough to consume one teaspoon, that is, five grams, to meet the daily requirement.

Makisha reminded me of mushrooms. They have a unique ability to accumulate vitamin D in themselves. Chanterelles are among the champions. 100 grams of these mushrooms contain almost 50% of the daily vitamin requirement.

“Vitamin D is involved in many processes, including stimulating macrophage cells that remove amyloid protein, and its increased production is just one of the main causes of the onset and development of Alzheimer’s disease. Therefore, vitamin D helps keep the brain young and healthy,” explained the nutritionist.
