Mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region begins – Vereshchuk

This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk on Facebook.

“The mandatory evacuation from Donbass has begun. The first train arrived this morning in Kropyvnytskyi. Women, children, old people, many people with limited mobility. Everyone was met and settled, everyone was helped,” the message says.

She thanked local services, international organizations and volunteers, as well as the head of the Donetsk region Andriy Raikovich and his team for their exemplary work.


At 4 am on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the occupied Donbas. Russia launched missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and launched a direct full-scale invasion in four directions. The armed forces of Ukraine are rebuffing the enemy, the blitzkrieg plan – to capture Kyiv in two or three days – failed, the Russian army retreated from the capital.
