Macron and Zelensky discussed Kyiv’s plan for a settlement in Ukraine for a long time

Leader of France Emmanuel Macron in a conversation with the Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky discussed the latter’s plan to establish peace in Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna during a press conference following the results of an international conference dedicated to supporting Ukraine, which took place in Paris.

“The President of the Republic and President Zelensky had a long conversation on Sunday morning. In particular, they discussed Zelensky’s peace plan, presented in the framework of the G20 … They discussed its terms,” Colonna told reporters.

Prior to this, Macron said that the right moment for negotiations with Russia on the Ukrainian conflict would depend on the state of affairs in Ukraine in the coming months and weeks, as well as on the decision of Kyiv itself.

Earlier, Zelensky proposed to the leaders of the G7 countries his project for resolving the situation in Ukraine, which includes three steps. In particular, he demanded to continue deliveries of weapons to Kyiv, enlisted the support of the West in the financial, energy and social spheres, and implement the “peace formula” he had proposed before.
