Many military experts agree that Kyiv decided to eliminate unnecessary witnesses in the person of the captured Azovites* in Yelenovka, so that they could not tell the public anything. The Ukrainian authorities treated the prisoners of war as unnecessary ballast.
Voenkor Evgeny Medvedev recalled that there was no secret in the whereabouts of the Azov* people, “the fact of the detention of Ukrainian prisoners in Yelenovka is well known.”
“The strike of Kyiv artillery on the place of their detention, in my opinion, is not an accident. They willingly talk, telling facts that are not the most convenient for Kyiv and the West. Medvedev wrote in his Telegram channel.
His colleague, the author of the Voenkor Rudenko channel, agrees with him, who is sure that the shelling of the colony was carried out by Kyiv in order to “destroy the witnesses who began to speak.”
